Mictis protractus Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850 was cited in synonymy with Mictis affinis Westwood, 1842 (catalogued above as a synonym of phasianus) by Dohrn (1859: 24). Both M. protractus and M. compressa Dallas, 1852 were cited in synonymy with Anoplocnemis phasianus (Fabricius, 1781) by O’Shea (1980).
