The name Enoplops cornutus (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1833) has often (e.g. Mulsant & Rey, 1870: 29) been applied to this species but Moulet (1991: 51) reduced it to synonymy with E. scapha (Fabricius, 1794). Consequently, some published records may be inaccurate.
