Intermediates between this and subspecies persicus Jakovlev, 1882 reported by Moulet (1994) are mostly typical M. corsicus corsicus and partly M. errans errans (see Kerzhner, 1998b). The record from Albania (Misja, 1973, as lutheri) need confirmation.
