Ophthalmicus pallidipennis A. Costa, 1843 [after September, 21, date of acceptance of the manuscript] is a junior primary homonym of Ophthalmicus pallidipennis Amyot & Serville, 1843 [September 6, see Annales de la Société Entomologique de France, 1843, Bull., p. xl]. Probably provisions of Art. 23.9 of the Code can be used in future for conservation of Costa's name.
