According to Kerzhner (1979c) records from Israel, Syria, Egypt, Iran, and probably Turkey are erroneous and probably concern G. fedtschenkoi. The records from Iran (Modarres Awal, 1996a, 1996b; Abd- Rabou & Ghahari, 2006; Havaskary et al., 2010; Khaghaninia et al., 2010c, Ghahari et al., 2012a), Egypt and Sinai (El-Sebaey, 2000) need confirmation. El-Sebaey (2000) restored Geocoris albidus (Jakovlev, 1871) as valid species, listing G. fedtschenkoi as it junior synonym.
