Wagner (1957t) apparently overlooked that the earliest name for Geoffroy's Cimex No. 42 is Cimex fuscofasciatus Goeze, 1778. As an economically important species is involved and as availability of Goeze's work is a matter of discussion, we retained the currently used name.
