Type specimens of Dispons' taxa were discovered in his collection (MNHN) by P.V. Putshkov in 1995 and detailed type localities are given from Dispons' notebook. Additional syntypes may be found in other collections studied by Dispons. The same type material was used for the description of both Coranus kiritshenkoi femoralis Dispons, 1954 and C. arenaceus f. walkeri Dispons, 1963. The synonymy of Coranus mateui Wagner with C. kiritshenkoi Bergevin is based upon the study of the male paratype of the former, deposited in ZMUH.
