Contrary to Linnavuori (1973: 45), Horváth (1910b: 109-111) did not mention male type material. According to Priesner & Alfieri (1953: 74) Holotrichius innesi represents a female specimen of Holotrichius laevigatus Reuter, 1891, but according to Dispons (1962a: 38) the former is a good species.
