Records from subtropical and tropical parts of all zoogeographical regions, including Oceania, are doubtful and need to be checked, as several species are included under this name. Also, the study of its life-history by Tawfik and El Husseini (1971b) may concern Xylocoris afer and that by Chu (1969) X. hiurai. The record from Serbia (Protić, 2011d) needs confirmation.
