Some authors (Horváth, Golub) consider T. rotundicollis a valid species; others (Putshkov, Péricart), observing intermediate specimens, place it in synonymy of T. grisea. It seems that considering western populations favours the hypothesis of a single species, and considering eastern ones leads to the opposite conclusion.
