Lansbury (1972b: 323) doubts the occurrence of this species outside the Indian region and Ceylon, but the habitus figure given by Hoffmann (1930b) (if the long slender pronotum is correctly depicted) cannot be any other described Asian species. Specimens from IQ illustrated by Jaczewski (1927a) refer to Ranatra unicolor Scott (Jaczewski, 1964: 265).
