Cimex rubens Fabricius, 1794 is a junior primary homonym of Cimex rubens Harris, 1780 (= Deraeocoris ruber Linnaeus, 1758, Miridae), but as the two names were not used in one genus after 1899, replacement is not needed and the case should be referred to the International Commission of Zoological Nomenclature (Code, Art. 23.9.5).
