De Geer (1773) in synonymy of his Cimex fulvomaculatus cited Cimex bimaculatus Linnaeus, 1758 (synonymy doubtful, according to Reuter, 1888a; the specimen in LSUK belongs to Cyllecoris histrionius, see Horváth, 1899c: 277) and C. rolandri Linnaeus, 1761 (now Aphanus rolandri, Lygaeidae). The records from Ireland are erroneous.
