Dysdercus konowi Puton, 1887, described from Germany (Porta Westfalica S of Minden), proved to be a junior synonym of Dysdercus sanguinarius Stål, 1870, an endemic West Indian species (Doesburg, 1968: 49). This is obviously a case of occasional import to Europe.
