Atractotomus spissicornis (Schrank, 1801), mentioned in some works, is not a valid name, but a misidentification of Cimex spissicornis Fabricius, 1777. Stonedahl (1990) indicated for Atractotomus mali and related species that they do not belong to the genus, but did not indicate their position.
