According to the original description the type of Holotrichius loricatus is a female, but according to Linnavuori (1973a) it is a male. Records of Holotrichius rotundatus Stål from "Sarepta" [= Krasnoarmeysk, nr Volgograd] and Siberia (Reuter, 1881a) as well as from Kazakhstan (Asanova, 1968) are erroneous.
