This species was recorded from Afghanistan by Kiritshenko (1938b, 1963a) as Dysdercus melanopygus Breddin. The record from China (E. Schmidt, 1932: 280) apparently refers to D. cingulatus. Contrary to Bergroth (1914b: 355), Dysdercus micropygus Breddin, 1909 is not synonymous with D. koenigii (see StehlĂk & Kerzhner, 1999: 124).
