Except for some cases verified by the author and proved to belong to other taxa, synonymies concerning H. superbus and H. guttatus are given here following Josifov (1965b); nevertheless the differences between these two species seem so slight that it might be possible that they constitute only one species with different clines in its vast geographical range (see Péricart, 1999a).
