Old records of pictus from before the description of closely related obtectus Vásárhelyi, 1988 need verification. Those reported from Finland Norway Russia Sweden (Coulianos & Ossiannilsson, 1976; Kanyukova, 1988b) refer not to pictus, which shows a mediterranean distribution, but to the eurosiberian obtectus and are reported there.
