Lundblad (1933a: 127) could not decide whether or not Paraplea indistinguenda (Matsumura, 1905) is synonymous with Paraplea liturata (Fieber, 1844). If the synonymy is established, then P. liturata is the senior synonym, and P. metiadusa (Distant, 1911a), P. rufonotata (Distant, 1914), P. fasciata (Horváth, 1918) and P. quinquenotata (Paiva, 1918a) are also possible junior synonyms.
