Wagner (1959k: 344) subdivided this species in Calocoris annulus (= fuscescens, fuliginosus) and C. nebulosus, with unclear synonymy of C. collaris. This subdivision, though accepted by some authors (e.g. Tamanini, 1981), is not substantiated and not followed here. The citation from Hungary refers to Croatia.
