Monalocoris (Monalocoris) filicis (Linnaeus, 1758)

The pale form (var. atlantica) is recorded from the southern and atlantic part of the species range (Bulgaria France Great Britain Ireland Italy Portugal Spain Ukraine Azores), and in some countries, e.g. Bulgaria, the mountains are inhabited by the dark form and the lowlands by the pale one. Based on these observations, the pale form is considered as a subspecies by Josifov (1986a: 42). Records from N America refer to Monalocoris americanus Wagner & Slater, 1952.
