The extramediterranean distribution of Sastrapada baerensprungi needs revision. The proposed synonymy of Pygolampis innotata Walker, 1873 and Sastrapada bipunctata Walker, 1873 (Distant, 1902d: 177) is incorrect. Moreover, it is evident from the original description that Pygolampis innotata does not belong to the genus Sastrapada (see also Bergroth, 1922b: 87). The record from Japan is based on misidentified Sastrapada oxyptera (see Miyamoto, 1976b).
