Cimex leviatan Goeze must be excluded from the synonymy of Pygolampis bidentata (Goeze). According to the original description it is too small for an adult Pygolampis ("2 lignes") and cannot be considered as a larva because of the presence of wings (Geoffroy, 1762: 439).
