According to Carayon (1972b) all former verified records from North Africa are erroneous; nevertheless the confirmed discovery in Israel (Péricart & Halperin, 1989) allows us to think that the species is probably also present in Egypt, as quoted by Priesner & Alfieri (1953). Introduced into Belgium (ISNB!).
