The law of priority should have been applied for restoring the species name sinuata, senior synonym of auriculata and abandoned since 120 years. Drake & Ruhoff (1965: 392) did not make this change and Péricart (1983: 300, note), although aware of the problem, but at the time not quite sure about the publication year of A. Costa's paper (1847 or 1843, as stated by Horváth, 1906a), made no change, considering also the rather abundant literature under the name auriculata.
