Bagrada (Bagrada) hilaris (Burmeister, 1835)

Cimex pictus Fabricius (1775) is preoccupied, but many workers have continued to use this name or the replacement name, cruciferarum, proposed by Kirkaldy (1909a). There are several older available synonyms, however, including hilaris which was not actually described by Burmeister (1835), but his reference to a figure in another publication is sufficient for establishing this name.
