Fieber (1851: 442) described the species from Bohemia, but later on he only listed it from Germany (Fieber, 1861a: 359). Servadei (1952) listed the species from Italy (Sardinia). In recent checklists for these countries, however, it is not listed anymore. Its taxonomic position and distribution remain uncertain (see also Derzhansky & Péricart, 2005: 190).
