Sahlberg, 1841. #Allocotus Puton, 1874a: 218 (junior homonym of Allocotus Fischer de Waldheim, 1838, Pisces) (as genus). Type species by monotypy: Allocotus rubidus Puton, 1874. Melanotrichus Reuter, 1875g: 151 (as subgenus of Orthotylus). Type species by subsequent designation (Kirkaldy, 1906a: 127): Phytocoris flavosparsus C.R.
