Chérot & Malipatil (2016: 187) suggest to include west Palearctic species of Megacoelum sensu lato with erect, elongate metatibial pilosity, longer than tibial width, that were classified by Linnavuori (1974b) in his group two in a separate new genus Pseudomegacoelum. The species concerned are beckeri, quercicola and angustum.
