Extralimital subgenus: Orthosolenia Reuter, 1884, New Zealand. The subdivision of the genus Cardiastethus in subgenera by Reuter (1884c) was not followed by other specialists and since no known representative of his subgenus Orthosolenia belongs to the Palaearctic fauna, subgeneric levels are not considered here.
