Contrary to Bergroth (1891), Megarynchus Thunberg and Megarhynchus Laporte are not homonyms, but Megarrhamphus Bergroth is retained here as being in general usage. The spelling Megarhynchus first used for Thunberg’s name by Heine (1860) is not accepted in modern ornithological reference-books.
